FAQ's - Sports & Remedial Massage

Q:  What is the difference between a sports massage and a remedial massage?

A:  The majority of people will be able to benefit from, and enjoy, a Hot Stones Massage.  However, there are certain medical conditions that may either restrict or completely rule out treatment.  I am happy to have a telephone consultation prior to booking to discuss.

Q.  Do Hot Stones burn or hurt?

A.  Absolutely not! The temperature of the stones is carefully monitored and needs to be comfortable enough to be held in the therapists hands.

Q.  How will I feel after the treatment?

A.  Hopefully very relaxed and possibly a bit sleepy!  After a short time to adjust and a refreshing glass of water, you'll be ready to continue on with your day.

Q.  I am allergic to nuts, can I still have a treatment?

A.  Yes.  There are a number of different massage oils containing no nuts that can be used.

Q.  I'm quite self conscious and a bit nervous about having a treatment.

A.  Other than the part of the body being treated, everything else is covered using sarongs/towels/blankets.  Client comfort is of the utmost importance to me, so I am happy to discuss any concerns and adapt treatments if required.
